About 120 leaders and supporters of Hawaii’s agriculture and agricultural biotechnology attended this year’s Taste of Ag reception held on the Hawaii State Art Museum’s front lawn. HCIA President Fred Perlak and Executive Director Alicia Maluafiti, Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation President Dean Okimoto, and Governor Neil Abercrombie delivered opening remarks. The menu, prepared by Oahu chef Hiroshi Fukui, featured locally grown and raised produce from farms on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai, and the Big Island.
