WHO ARE WE?
It’s an exciting time for agriculture – and Hawaii plays a big role in making a positive difference.
Our global society faces great challenges: a growing population, climate change, and the need for enough food, feed, fiber and fuel to sustain our planet long-term. At the same time, millions of bright, passionate people are working to find solutions through smart advances in science, agriculture and technology – including many dedicated individuals here in the islands.
HCIA is proud to be part of that forward-thinking community. Our member companies are devoted to agriculture, and their employees work daily to help our customers succeed. Through advances in modern plant breeding, agricultural technologies and improved products, farmers are able to grow their crops more successfully and sustainably than ever before. The results are clear: improved crop production, positive economic gains, and a softer environmental footprint.
HCIA members are also committed to being responsible neighbors and good stewards of our farms and communities, working to protect Hawaii’s natural resources and contributing through volunteerism and charitable giving. We are proud of our half-century history in Hawaii, as farmers, neighbors and members of the community.
More than ever, agriculture faces real challenges. We need and appreciate the community’s support to ensure Hawaii agriculture continues to flourish. I invite you to please connect with us, and help support the future of farming in Hawaii. We welcome and support all ag sectors – organic, conventional and biotechnology. Together, we can help farming succeed.
